Kyiv Smart City Forum has recently taken place on the premises of Olympiyskiy stadium. The questions discussed within the event were connected to the technologies incorporation to make Kyiv into the “smart city.” The concept of the Forum is quite all-encompassing and includes implementation of e-services for Kyiv residents, technological improvement of city infrastructure and focus of environmentally-friendly innovations. Representatives of the business, IT-community and authorities, have signed a memorandum within the Forum on collaboration regarding Kyiv Smart City concept implementation. Important steps that have already been taken include e-services (obtaining of subsidies, car registration), city budget monitoring service, Kyiv resident card, a system of property management, etc.
There were a lot of projects presented at the Forum, including budget-friendly cars created by Ukrainian developer Eduard Rudik, smart benches, which charge electronic devices using solar panels and smart buses with Wi-fi. The startups presented within the event include Kyiv Deaf Service, Arbuz project, which helps users monitor the safety of streets in Kyiv and an app helping residents use their energy resources more reasonably.
